LBC Bombers finished sixth (6) in this years SP cup competition.

LBC Bombers Presentation Night
The LBC Bombers presentation night was held at the Lae International hotel. There was a good crowd of family, friends, supporters and the sponsors where all present there. Mr. Ian Walsh who was the master of ceremony proceeded with the welcome speech and handed the floor over to the CEO of Lae Builders Mr. John Sweet.

After a brief speech regarding the major sponsor Lae Builders and Contractors it was time for the presentation of jerseys to players who where consistent in their respective position through out the year. Then came the moment everyone was waiting for, the naming of the Rookie of the year, Best forward of the year, Best backs of the year and of course the player of the year who will receive the Sir Bob Sinclair Shield.

Chris Black (Darkie) was asked to come and present the best back award to non other then the kid from Kainantu Benson Joel, a proud moment for the young lad who was over looked in so many years but was given the nod this year and never looked back ever since. He will be a big asset for the team comes next season and hopefully dawn the red black and gold (Kumuls) in the near future.

Best forward was awarded to Jerry Kutz, who unfortunatly was an underrated player last year thus he has improved dramatically this year from the shadows into the lime light and no wonder has will enjoy a very long career if he keeps doing what he does best, going forward and gaining yards.

The coaches award was the next award. This award is specially given to a player who has proven reliable, disciplined, and punctual through out the entire season. The award was presented by the coach himself Mr. Boga Falaniko Tau. The recipient to the award was hard working second rower Adam Bill. The former Goroka Lahanis rake has fitted in well even thought he came in mid season. This award also highlights the leadership quality he possesses.

And finally the big one "Player of the Year" all eyes are on whose going to get this prestige’s award. Last years winner was elusive fullback Michael Moses who was injured unfortunately thus could not complete the season, and the player which is the red hot favorite to take out the award is none other then the inform Kumul prop Dusty Dup Mockley. He has proven a handful to other SP Cup teams this year, getting most of the man of the match and best forward awards earning a spot in the Kumul team. The big guy from waghi has stepped up this year but probably will make a big impact next year should he maintain his form.

Finaly the team was asked by the board to start training early as November to prepare for the 2008 SP Cup campaign feather more board chairman Darkie also announced that he has found a mascot for next years SP Cup competition that would really boost the moral of the team.
